Thunder bluff classic rail poster

It's my birthday!
So I have drawn this...

It's World of warcraft's tauren capitol city thunder bluff, but in the style of a vintage rail poster. I really like the visuals and design elements of vintage rail posters and fancied giving it a go.

Scribbles, knights and the inside of cylinder space station docking bays.

Low G docking bay for Elite

Concept piece describing the inside one of the docking stations in Elite:dangerous.
Very fun to work with physics and physicists on this, the dimensions and rpm have been calculated to allow easy loading and unloading of the ships close to the interior of a rotating cylinder station, so as you head further out more earth like levels of gravity are created.

Stop! Docking time. (To the tune of hammer time)

A quick concept for my good friend John O'lone's film the legend of the golden fish cake

Quick Knight sketch. My friend and co worker artist John Roberts @John_Arr keeps a longsword in the studio, and that inspired this.

Bee's new outfit is loosely based on Moorhens. Need to get back to dress design drawings, and costume design drawings after a lot of environments I need to clear the rust.

10min life drawing poses, I find 10mins an odd time in life drawing, shorter and I draw for gesture, longer and I look at form. I need to find a better way to tackle 10mins.

Armoured Jerboas, Space, hummingbirds and traffic wardens.

Here is an update...

With an armoured long eared Jerboa, a fun mount for all weathers and their individual ear markings makes them much easier (or should that be ear-sier... sorry) to find in those big city multi-story stables.

Anyway, Jerboa knights sounded like a good plan. Here is an early work in progress.

Some more Elite:Dangerous concept art has been released.

Craft fly toward the mining station on the far side of a moon as a geyser catches the sunlight on the otherside.

And I'm still drawing, here is a sketchbook scan. Pencil, moleskine, trains travel.
And my first ideas about a ‘traffic’ warden to join the london underground’s demon hunter. Will see where this goes!

Thanks for looking.

Rats and Roundrels.

Hope no one was particularly caught out by the changing of the clocks!

Here is some aaaarrrrrrrt:
Adventurer rat!
Scan from my little A5 travelling sketchbook. All train delays can be defeated by this sketchbook and a bottle of ale.

Cyborg's Crater Assessment Services.

A quick 40min one of some old characters. Thought I’d see how I would paint them now.

Scribblin for the fun of it.

Oxspindle bridge maybe? With art nouveau leanings?

Thinking about the inside of the crater city with giant ferret like creatures that sleep on the pipes and keep the pigeon population down.

British Museum's Keeper of occult substances.

Another friend of the London underground Demon hunter. This is the British Museum’s Keeper of Occult substances.
Sorry for the lack of posts recently, I’ve been put on a project that is eating up my creativity. Not a bad thing, I just haven’t had time for personal work.

Life drawing at work -

Couple of mins to 15-20 or so.

I'm not dead yet!

So I got myself a nasty virus and spent last week in bed.

This week has been mostly recovering. But I have been working on things.
Also my company put on some life drawing, so I'll get that scanned.

The London underground demonhunter doesn’t operate alone, he has friends and allies. This is the Post office’s guardian of unmarked places. A veteran of the old Glasgow deep mining tunnels. I imagine he keeps an eye on the tunnels and areas caused by the post offices’s secret computing work and their old mail trains.
A little bit in on this, just having a go with colour.
Lots to do!
Sketch from lunch.

Oxspindle Merchants arms, more costume designs.

The pub on the oxspindle where our protagonists shall meet.

Costume design drawings, trying to see which design rhythm I think works on the character.

Coast, Binturongs and costume designs.

Ehlo all,
Yip has been bugging me to scan some sketchbook pages.
Here are some sketches, currently a few showgirls, but incoming steampunk as I’m getting back into some world building.
First costume design drawing / fashion illustration. Outfit here is based on this moth

One of a few evening photo studies.

Some Zoo sketches from Saturday. Binturong and Reindeer.
I want a Binturong, they were great! Also swimming capybaras are great, on land they seem quite relaxed then they enter the water and become STEALTH CAPY and briefly surface from one place to the next.

Princess Ariel redesign and 'Lantern'

Little mermaid Princess Ariel Redesign.

She's a swashbuckling captain of a pirate ship with pistols, swords on her back, a crocodile and puffer fish armoured jacket and some fish scale waders.

Attempt at doing something in adventure time style drawing.

One hour lunch sketch to the theme of ‘Lantern’

Porcupine tinkerer

For a design your own pokemon competition over at the clockwork ballroom.

Here is my vaguely steampunk porcupine tinkerer with his little gadget, his tool belt and obligatory goggles!

I compiled a process from some psds.
