Planes planes and planes

I haven't been drawing that much interesting recently, just planes and trying to get my foundations better, this is for two reasons i think, i'm in a bit of a lul and i've been realising how much I've been living off shortcuts and symbolism in the place of true drawing. A circle with two dots and a line always looks like a head, but to really be able to communicate i need to know a lot more than that. Enough rambling, sketches -

Little bike sketch.
I've been doing a lot of these, full body ones too, i'll throw up this early one, I don't really want to fill the blog with the rest.

Girls and flightmasks.

Girlies this post... I need to draw more men, some muscley frowning men, maybe next week.

Here's another go at the red kite, just killed the colour to take a look and it's not looking great... but i'm learning. I once again need to thank Yip for giving me some really useful crits.

Got a bit stuck on her gas mask so put some quick variants together to get my brain working.

And some stuff from the sketchbook.

Late!

This maybe my latest update ever!

I now have internets! so what is my excuse i hear you cry, none really, went back to see my family at the weekend, and generally seem to have spread my time over about 8 sketchbook pages and 4 psds, i'll show those next week, here's just some more rendering i did on some old page on the train.

I'm meeting up with a variety of illustrators so i'll show all next update.

Watercolours, coffee shop gestures and a sargent trip

Hallo!

This week i have mostly been eating.. no thats one for the folk growing up in the 90s.

This week i've mostly been working, met up with a friend over from Sweeden, one back from searching for owls, and one who left his self imposed exile in the bowls of IBM.

Also on the weekend i went to see the Sargent and the Sea exhibition at the RA here in London.

Enough chitter chatter for the holmes, here's some art:

Quick snippet of where i'm up to with this:

Coffee house sketches after the sargent.
